9/83 US EMBASSY SEEKS DIRECT SALES

The US Embassy has called on Japanese department stores and supermarkets to increase their direct purchases of US goods and reduce their sales prices for US goods. The embassy seeks to eliminate the many middle men which make the prices of US goods in Japan 2-3 times higher than their prices in the US.
