Japan Law by Roderick Seeman
JUVENILE CRIMNAL LAW.
Keywords: CRIMINAL LAW

Shizuoka prosecutors have become the first to utilize new provisions of the 2001 revised Juvenile Law by appealing the judgment of a family court. The revision permitted such appeals. The family court threw out the case where the youth was accused of a rape where a teenage girl claimed ten young men attempted to rape her. She later changed the date of the attempted rape, and the Family Court said her testimony was not reliable. So the prosecutors will appeal.
