Much like the Europeans, the Japanese public has not been enamored with genetically modified food. Nevertheless, Japan is expected to approve 3 types of genetically modified organisms under the Law Concerning the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity through Regulations on the Use of Living Modified Organisms. The three are 2 strains of insect resistant corn and a strain of flowers.
