CHAPTER IV SUPERVISION

Article 24 (The Filing of Reports or Data)

The Minister of Finance, when he deems it necessary in order to secure the healthy and appropriate operation of the business of a bank, may request to the banks (including representative offices) that they provide reports or data concerning the condition of that bank's business or assets.

2. The Minister of Finance, when he deems it particularly necessary in order to secure the healthy and appropriate operation of a bank, to the extent necessary, can request of the subsidiary of the said bank the filing of reports or data which should become a reference in relation to the condition of the business or assets of the said bank.

3. When the subsidiary of the bank has appropriate reasons, it can refuse to submit the reports or the filing of data based on the provisions of the previous Paragraph.

4. The "subsidiary company" of Paragraph 2, shall mean, from among the companies where the bank holds more than 50% of the total issued and outstandings shares (limited to those with voting rights) or the total investment in capital or equity holding, those as provided by Cabinet Order.

5. The provisions of Article 16-2, Paragraph 2, shall apply mutatis mutandis in the previous Paragraph, concerning the shares, etc. the bank holds.
